Reporting directly in to the Managing Director, our client is looking to hire a Product Development Manager.

This is a newly created travel job that will allow the successful candidate to make this role their own and potentially build a strong product team around them. However in the first instance, this is a very hands on Product job and you will work closely with the Managing Director on the company’s product development strategy, as the UK is their key market in terms of product offering. You will need to have a strong product or contacting background of the UK to fulfil this job in travel. In addition to this being creative in the product that is being put together, whether be an existing tour or program through to introducing something new to their offering, it will need to have added value and a USP that differentiates against competitors.

The UK market for tourism is a very price driven sector and therefore you will need to be a strong negotiator as well as being very commercial and margin driven. Candidates must have a good knowledge of the UK market, hotels, attractions, events and have a background in inbound tourism to the UK. In addition to the market knowledge our client is looking for the Product Manager to have at least 5 years’ experience in Product management for the UK market and understand the product lifecycle from planning, research to delivery.
