It’s important not to underestimate a phone interview. Most companies now use phone interviews as their first stage of screening, meaning this is your first opportunity to impress. On most occasions, if you do not excel here, you will not make it to the next round. There are countless benefits of having an initial phone interview. Not only does it save valuable time out of the office, but you also don’t need to plan what you wear, which is always a bonus.

So much planning and preparation goes into your interview, what to wear, researching who you are meeting, preparing competency based answers, collating figures and achievements you can provide, but do you ever think about what to say at the end of your interview as a candidate?

For most of us, having a video call has become second nature. However this familiarity can mean that it’s easy to forget the simple things to remember when preparing for a video interview. Interviewing from home is easy to set up and if you prepare in advance it can be less stressful than interviewing in person.

Face to face interview, what’s that? It's hard to remember a time before virtual meetings became the new normal. But if we have learnt anything in recent years, it’s that pretty much everything can change overnight.  With a recent increase in hiring managers requesting face to face interviews, we thought it would be a good time to refresh our minds on approaching having an interview in person.
